Argos Direction Finder for Recovery & Tracking

The CLS goniometer helps users find active ARGOS platforms in the field. Depending on the altitude and the reception conditions the goniometer can detect all transmitting platforms within a radius of 100 km or more.

It is a highly sensitive direction finder which enables field recovery of Argos platforms by detecting:

• The direction towards the Argos platform
• The signal power of the Argos transmitter
• The GPS positions transmitted by the platform (if any)

This new Goniometer is an essential tool for recovering Ocean Gliders where the primary communication system has failed. PERFORMANCE The CLS goniometer is a very high sensitive direction finder that provides the direction as well as an indication of the distance of an Argos transmitter for field recovery.

This powerful local Argos receiver is able to locate an Argos transmitter thanks to a set of: RXG-134 (direction finder) and AXG 134-A (antenna).

Argos demodulated messages and PTT reception angle are displayed on the screen and available on serial port. An embedded GPS provides local positioning information.

The AXG 134-A antenna is composed by low noise amplifiers and discrete SAW (Surface Acoustic Wavefilter) band filters.
